After years of searching for compressed synths weaved under a tight beat, it has been interesting to see
Ed Banger become the standard for popular electronic/house music. I helped organize an
electronic music festival in Belgium a few years ago, and although the Ed acts that played were solid and entertaining, many people were wondering how long the label would actually last.
Breakbot seems to be exactly what they needed. While other acts such as
Daft Punk andÂ
Justice virtually electro-ize some of their favorite dance tracks from the 70′s, Breakbot takes those old influences and creates something new. He is also dangerous at remixing tracks. I usually only throw out three tracks at a time, but there is too much gold to go around.
