No matter how hard I try, I just can’t get into
Girl Talk. There is something to be said about combining and crossing genres in incredibly swift increments of time, but listening to
Night Ripper makes me feel like I’m being tested for
ADD. I believe that someone like
Girl Talk needs to exist in order to expand the parameters of Djing, but I’ll listen to
The Glitch Mob if I want to hear someone to cross genres. This team from Los Angeles melts dubstep with various other bass heavy genres to create an entirely unique sound. They’re so good that I can forget they use
Ableton for live sets. Throw these on the next time someone asks you to rip into the night.
