Ok, so I watch Gossip Girl and I have no shame about it. Occasionally it pays off musically. I was watching this past week’s episode with a friend and we got to the scene where the threesome started (can’t even touch upon that right now), and we were like “is that at T.I. cover?”. Indeed it was. Anya Marina has covered “Whatever You Like” in such a sweet and sincere manner, that I can almost digest it as a straight up love ballad. This is partly hilarious, but mostly filled with a beautiful naiveté that has me listening to it over and over again. I liked the original, but this one has me coming back time and time again, on its own merit, and that must mean something.
