I first got into L.A. producer Nosaj Thing‘s work when I heard his remix of Flying Lotus‘ Camel (one of my top remixes of 2k9), and have been deep into everything I’ve heard since. His sonic, ethereal beats have made him a staple in the L.A. underground, and Drift, his first official LP, was another one of my favorites from last year. He also makes some exceptional remixes. I may be one of the only people who isn’t crazy about The Xx, but I think his rework of Islands deserves a little more love.
