A friend emailed me this Monsters of Folk track, and I had never heard of them prior. According to allmusic, they “were formed around the talents of indie rock giants Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes), M. Ward (She & Him), and Jim James (My Morning Jacket)“. Outrageous, Monsters of Folk indeed, how cheeky. Though I’m not the biggest fan of some of these guys out of this context, this song is rocking my world, as it’s hardly folk and leans more towards indie rock with an electronic kick. So I’m late to the game, this album has been out since September, but better late than never I say.
Monsters of Folk – Dear God (sincerely M.O.F.)
