° Twin Sister, Color Your Life EP °

Dreamy Brooklynites Twin Sister have released their new EP, entitled Color Your Life, for free on their website for two weeks! It was super swell to finally experience them live at the MICRO-PIXEL-RITES unofficial yet totally rad backyard BBQ showcase during SXSW, and to learn that they’ll be in the fair city of Washington, DC in mid-April. All you audiophiles can grab that vinyl version here.

° Body Language, “Sandwiches” Remixed °

Opened my inbox yesterday to find a new remix of a track by my new favorite band, Body Language. “Sandwiches” is transformed from a sexy makeout song, into a sexy makeout song you can dance to. Can’t wait to be listening to this at a summertime pool party, but for now I’ll enjoy these first days of spring as March goes out like a lamb.

° SXSW Performance: Mountain Man @ The Longbranch Inn °

After another long day in Austin, I found myself at a Mountain Man performance somewhere near 1am during the Underwater Peoples and Gorilla vs. Bear showcase. Delirious and exhausted, I was holding out to hear these lovely ladies. Due to technical difficulties, the trio decided to cast their microphones aside, instead choosing to perform acoustically while seated on the stage. The entire audience followed suit, huddled close to one another attempting to grasp every note. It was one of the most intimate musical experiences I’ve had, especially when considering that this scene took place inside a crowded Austin bar. Longtime fans and new converts gathered together in silence for a truly magical collective experience. Microphone Memory Emotion said it better than I ever could have here.

So my longtime loves Cocorosie are releasing a new album, Grey Oceans, due out in May. This is the first taste I’ve heard, and I’m already excited.

WHO WE ARE

Dipped in Dollars (D.I.D.) is the brainchild of Chief and Danger. While attending a crazy liberal arts college in Vermont, we realized our mutual love of righteous dance music, art, and the people behind them. D.I.D. exists to share this love with you and hopefully turn you on to something new.

This site exists to promote artists, if you hear something you like, think about throwing the artist(s) a few dollars, buy an album, go to a concert, show them you care. If any artists or official people want us to take any of our links down, just shoot us an email and we'll take care of it.

If you wish to contact the team, send mail to did@dippedindollars.com or for individual addresses, check here. (But please not both, duplicates are a drag)
