Just about everyone I’ve run into this week has been raving about
Have One On Me, the latest release from
Joanna Newsom. It’s pretty substantial to release three albums worth of material at once, but every song from
Have One On Me is crucial to the balance of the album. She clearly dedicated a lot of time to developing this material. The quality of
Newsom‘s voice isn’t for everyone, but I haven’t seen people this excited about a release since
Merriweather dropped last year. Check her on
tour all winter.

It’s a nice enough album but there’s not enough variation. It sort of becomes a blur after the first disc.
