• Sounds of Summer: Sola Rosa •
June 9th, 2010 | by Danger | filed under Music

The fates delivered whispers of Sola Rosa to me a few months ago, and I’ve been hooked ever since. The New Zealand based group incorporates elements of classical guitar, dub, and slight notes of hip hop and soul into their music. It’s a hodge podge that works perfectly together and will surely get you tapping your feet. It’s all too easy to have this album on repeat (I should know), as it’s filled with the perfect sounds for the season. You can download the track “Del Ray” for free through their website, though the whole digital album is a mere $10, and worth every penny. If you’re willing to go the distance, it’s also been pressed on gorgeous ice blue vinyl in a limited edition of 500. This genre bending group has a bit of something for everyone, and I envision many a summer barbecue with this as the soundtrack.
