Com Truise – Sundriped

Com Truise recently dropped this chill jam called Sundriped. There has been a lot of negative criticism surrounding the whole chillwave scene, but I love how it’s helping to bridge the gap between those who produce with Pro Tools and those who produce with Ableton/Reason. I’m interested to see how it will influence popular music [...]

Barretso – “Midnight Walk”

BustedBASS and I have been working on a live project we’re calling CHAMPION at the moment, and this track from Chilean wonder Barretso is definitely going to be in our catalog. This track only gets better at all the right moments. Stay tuned for more show info/mixes to be up in the next couple of [...]

Sounds Of Summer: Monster Rally

If there was any artist that truly encapsulated our Sounds Of Summer feature, it’d be Monster Rally. Glowing tropical samples thrown over sparse beats is keeping my mind off of the summer heat, and his DOOM remix is so chill. This summer is really cruising by. You can find most of his material for free [...]

These New Puritans – “Hologram” (SALEM Remix)

I’ve really been getting into SALEM‘s sound over the last few weeks, and this remix of These New Puritans‘ Hologram is tremendous. You can pre-order King Night here. These New Puritans – Hologram (SALEM Remix)

VIDEO: Mount Kimbie – “Would Know”

D.I.D. favorites Mount Kimbie recently sent over their video for Would Know, and I’m loving the early nineties aesthetic. It kind of reminds me of something out of Gummo. You must listen to Crooks & Lovers. Mount Kimbie – Field

Time Traveling: Wax Tailor

Wax Tailor is the alias of hip hop producer Jean-Christophe Le Saoƻt. Hailing from Paris, his three albums are filled with intelligent samples and exceptional beats. Tales Of The Forgotten Melodies is one of my favorite albums of all time. Growing up on Dj Shadow/RJD2/The Avalanches, this was a real find in my final semester [...]

Teen Daze + Blissed Out

Blissed Out is a live electronics duo from New York City who recently sent over their edit of Teen Daze‘s Shine On You Crazy White Cap. This is the first time I’ve heard of either artists, and I’ve seriously been missing out. Teen Daze – Shine On, You Crazy White Cap Teen Daze – Shine [...]

Sounds of Summer: Beat Connection

The boys from Beat Connection, a Seattle based duo, recently sent over their debut EP, Surf Noir. These eight tracks are light and summery with a heavy dose of nostalgia, and are perfectly reminiscent of the sand and surf. Considering that they’re giving away this delightful bundle of songs for FREE on their bandcamp, you’d [...]

Fresh from Acephale

The guys from Acephale just sent over new material from Midnight Juggernauts and two outstanding Korallreven remixes. Every artist I’ve heard on Acephale has been exceptional. You can pre-order a 12″ of The Crystal Axis here, and check their tour dates below. 7/22/10 Santos – New York, NY 7/23/10 Voyeur – Philadelphia, PA 7/24/10 Brooklyn [...]

Fever

This article was written by BustedBASS When classic artists update their sound they often run the risk of losing the originality that made them special. That’s not at all the case on Fever, a track from George Clinton‘s latest release. It’s a cover of a classic 1950s song and features guest vocals by Sly Stone. [...]

WHO WE ARE

Dipped in Dollars (D.I.D.) is the brainchild of Chief and Danger. While attending a crazy liberal arts college in Vermont, we realized our mutual love of righteous dance music, art, and the people behind them. D.I.D. exists to share this love with you and hopefully turn you on to something new. More about the brains behind the brawn, here.

This site exists to promote artists, if you hear something you like, think about throwing the artist(s) a few dollars, buy an album, go to a concert, show them you care. If any artists or official people want us to take any of our links down, just shoot us an email and we'll take care of it. Happy Listening!
