° VIDEO: Mount Kimbie – “Would Know” °

D.I.D. favorites Mount Kimbie recently sent over their video for Would Know, and I’m loving the early nineties aesthetic. It kind of reminds me of something out of Gummo. You must listen to Crooks & Lovers.

° Time Traveling: Wax Tailor °

Wax Tailor is the alias of hip hop producer Jean-Christophe Le Saoût. Hailing from Paris, his three albums are filled with intelligent samples and exceptional beats. Tales Of The Forgotten Melodies is one of my favorite albums of all time. Growing up on Dj Shadow/RJD2/The Avalanches, this was a real find in my final semester of College. He’s still touring from his latest release, In The Mood For Life, and will hopefully be releasing more material soon.

° Teen Daze + Blissed Out °

Blissed Out is a live electronics duo from New York City who recently sent over their edit of Teen Daze‘s Shine On You Crazy White Cap. This is the first time I’ve heard of either artists, and I’ve seriously been missing out.

° Sounds of Summer: Beat Connection °

The boys from Beat Connection, a Seattle based duo, recently sent over their debut EP, Surf Noir. These eight tracks are light and summery with a heavy dose of nostalgia, and are perfectly reminiscent of the sand and surf. Considering that they’re giving away this delightful bundle of songs for FREE on their bandcamp, you’d really be a fool to pass this up.

WHO WE ARE

Dipped in Dollars (D.I.D.) is the brainchild of Chief and Danger. While attending a crazy liberal arts college in Vermont, we realized our mutual love of righteous dance music, art, and the people behind them. D.I.D. exists to share this love with you and hopefully turn you on to something new.

This site exists to promote artists, if you hear something you like, think about throwing the artist(s) a few dollars, buy an album, go to a concert, show them you care. If any artists or official people want us to take any of our links down, just shoot us an email and we'll take care of it.

If you wish to contact the team, send mail to did@dippedindollars.com or for individual addresses, check here. (But please not both, duplicates are a drag)
