° Annu °

I have been looking very hard for beats that don’t sound like Jay Dee Junior. Flying Lotus, Onra, and Daedelus may have set the bar a little too high for these fall releases, because most of my favorites are really flopping. Annu‘s Dream Runner has been a refreshing break from the monotony, and I love how he incorporates his influences into beats that don’t make me feel like I’ve heard them somewhere else. I’m purposely holding off on purchasing his Def Vibrations LP so I have something to be excited about next week.

° Kleerup – “Until We Bleed” Ft. Lykke Li °

So I’m super late on this one, but thankfully browsing through daily beatz clued me in. It’s been ages since we’ve heard anything from Lykke Li (though apparently she’s currently in the studio recording), but this Kleerup track featuring the lovely chanteuse is just enough to keep me going in the meantime.

° Copy °

So prior to receiving an email about his recent release, Hard Dream, I had never heard of Copy, but anyone that Starfucker chooses to remix is worth a listen in my opinion. These Portland kids really know how to make a succinct dance track. In conjuction with his own album Copy is also dropping, yep you guessed it, a remix EP of R Kelly jams. Amazing. Don’t sleep on this one.

Copy – Breakfast
Copy – Smell It (Starfucker Remix)
R Kelly – Ignition (Copy Remix)

° VIDEO: Kelpe – “Margins” °

Kelpe‘s delivered the video for Margins earlier in the week, which takes us through an enigmatic day on what I believe is the California coast. This video is a perfect accompaniment to my favorite track on the album. Margins will be out everywhere next Monday.

WHO WE ARE

Dipped in Dollars (D.I.D.) is the brainchild of Chief and Danger. While attending a crazy liberal arts college in Vermont, we realized our mutual love of righteous dance music, art, and the people behind them. D.I.D. exists to share this love with you and hopefully turn you on to something new.

This site exists to promote artists, if you hear something you like, think about throwing the artist(s) a few dollars, buy an album, go to a concert, show them you care. If any artists or official people want us to take any of our links down, just shoot us an email and we'll take care of it.

If you wish to contact the team, send mail to did@dippedindollars.com or for individual addresses, check here. (But please not both, duplicates are a drag)
