I’ve been following
Warpaint since their 2009 release
Exquisite Corpse took me by storm, and I was fortunate enough to stumble upon this gem earlier in the week.
Ashes To Ashes can be found on the two disc
We Were So Turned On: A Tribute To David Bowie that will be out next week, which also features covers by
Chairlift,
Sister Crayon, and
Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros. These girls are quickly becoming one of my favorite bands out there, and I’m loving how they’ve made this song something else. They’re on
tour with
The xx all fall, and I’m killing myself for not getting tickets for their show at the United Palace soon enough.

And now they’re released a new single for free on http://warpaintwarpaint.com!
Exquisite Corpse is a favourite release of mine too, “Elephants”, especially, and I’ve been lucky enough to see this band twice in tiny venues in the UK. Sso stoked that big things are happening for them with the xx tour.
This track is a great find.
