Aman Ellis is another one of those house-turned-hip hop beatmakers from Alabama who sent over The Cacti, his lastest EP on Modyworks. He described his sound as a “wonked out psychedelic hip-hopish journey full of glass bells, vinyl samples and ghost stories”, but I think he needs to give himself more credit for crafting an intelligently experimental collection of beats. The Cacti isn’t as far out there as Elephant and Castle‘s work, and you can check out the rest of the EP for free here.
