° Star Slinger / Hard Mix Split 7″ °

Double Denim Records just let me know about a Star Slinger/Hard Mix split 7″ that will be out February 7th. They’re only printing 300 copies of the album, so you need to pre-order your copy while they last. Don’t forget to check Star Slinger on tour with Baths/Braids all February.

° Fur – “Polybreak” °

I’m still listening to that Fur mix he made for Streets of Beige last week and have to throw out my favorite track I’ve heard from him thus far. For an artist who’s become known for haunting, reverb heavy material, he sure knows how to produce flawless future funk. You can download the entire Lackadaisical EP for free from Waaga Records.

Fur – Polybreak

Fur – Clears Throat

° Phonophani °

I was engineering a show at my other job last week, where the artist incorporated a lot of works by Phonophani into his piece. This producer from Norway crafts experimental compostions that fuse traditional sounds and rhythms with minimal electronic structures. I would throw his works more in the direction of Steve Reich/Philip Glass than Daedelus or Boards of Canada. He’s even built his own monome/accordian for live shows. His material may not be something you’ll want to throw on at a party this weekend, but it’s definitely worth having in your collection.

WHO WE ARE

Dipped in Dollars (D.I.D.) is the brainchild of Chief and Danger. While attending a crazy liberal arts college in Vermont, we realized our mutual love of righteous dance music, art, and the people behind them. D.I.D. exists to share this love with you and hopefully turn you on to something new.

This site exists to promote artists, if you hear something you like, think about throwing the artist(s) a few dollars, buy an album, go to a concert, show them you care. If any artists or official people want us to take any of our links down, just shoot us an email and we'll take care of it.

If you wish to contact the team, send mail to did@dippedindollars.com or for individual addresses, check here. (But please not both, duplicates are a drag)
