Last week I was fortunate enough to receive an email from Kúra, two cousins who are “from a creative space between Reykjavik and Copenhagen”. I’m always a sucker for Icelandic accents, there’s a delicate intonation that seems to go hand in hand and adds just the right level of mysticism to these electronic beats. Their Multicolor EP is short and sweet, comprised of three original tracks as well as three remixes, but it sets the tone for more delicious tunes to come from these two, and I for one will be waiting with breath that is baited. I have been listening to these Labyrinth Ear tracks for a while now, and I just can’t stop. The duo is from London (as is half of the music I’m listening to these days) and released their Oak EP for free back in November. The lyrics are sincere and somber, with just enough of a dance infusion to keep you going throughout these cold months. As I write this I’m stuck inside due to snow and I couldn’t think of more perfect sounds to accompany the season. Download the rest of the EP here.
