° Kúra – Multicolor EP °

Last week I was fortunate enough to receive an email from Kúra, two cousins who are “from a creative space between Reykjavik and Copenhagen”. I’m always a sucker for Icelandic accents, there’s a delicate intonation that seems to go hand in hand and adds just the right level of mysticism to these electronic beats. Their Multicolor EP is short and sweet, comprised of three original tracks as well as three remixes, but it sets the tone for more delicious tunes to come from these two, and I for one will be waiting with breath that is baited. For now you can listen to the rest of the EP on their soundcloud.

Kúra – Gógó by Kúra

Kúra – Crystal Clear by Kúra

° Album: Monster Rally – Coral °

I was recently given the opportunity to preview Coral, Monster Rally‘s much-anticipated Janurary release on Gold Robot. I have always been intrigued by Monster Rally‘s aesthetically rich, yet minimal sound, and Coral is brimming with moments of wonder. The album reads just like an anthropological survey, transporting the listener through a lush array of aural soundscapes that Monster Rally has become known for. Cuban Velvet is such an exceptional track. This is one of those releases that must be experienced on vinyl, so pre-order one of their 250 copies while they last.

° Labyrinth Ear °

I have been listening to these Labyrinth Ear tracks for a while now, and I just can’t stop. The duo is from London (as is half of the music I’m listening to these days) and released their Oak EP for free back in November. The lyrics are sincere and somber, with just enough of a dance infusion to keep you going throughout these cold months. As I write this I’m stuck inside due to snow and I couldn’t think of more perfect sounds to accompany the season. Download the rest of the EP here.

Labyrinth Ear – Snow White
Labyrinth Ear – Navy Light

WHO WE ARE

Dipped in Dollars (D.I.D.) is the brainchild of Chief and Danger. While attending a crazy liberal arts college in Vermont, we realized our mutual love of righteous dance music, art, and the people behind them. D.I.D. exists to share this love with you and hopefully turn you on to something new.

This site exists to promote artists, if you hear something you like, think about throwing the artist(s) a few dollars, buy an album, go to a concert, show them you care. If any artists or official people want us to take any of our links down, just shoot us an email and we'll take care of it.

If you wish to contact the team, send mail to did@dippedindollars.com or for individual addresses, check here. (But please not both, duplicates are a drag)
