• Classic: Siriusmo – Mosaik •

After almost a decade of releases through various labels including Modeselektor‘s Monkeytown Records, Mosaik, Siriusmo‘s first official LP, is a remarkable display of prowess and intellect. Moritz Friedrich is known to be hypercritical of his material. The reclusive Berlin-based producer seldom performs live, balancing his work as Siriusmo with a successful career in visual art. The seventeen tracks on Mosaik were birthed from a three month studio intensive, where Friedrich piecemealed new and previous works into a literal mosaic of non-narrative material. The product is a seamless record that feels way before it’s time, highlighting Friedrich’s proficiency over a diverse number of genres and tempos. Songs like Idiologie and Good Idea articulate his finesse for production, with a unique approach to structure that will be influencing electronic artists for years to come. Hopefully it won’t be another decade before we hear his next LP. You can buy Mosaik on Amazon for only $5.99.
