° Dipped in November °

After last month’s 8tracks mix, I realized how easy it was to pull together some tracks and start making a monthly mix. We’ve blogged about tons of new releases, but we know it’s hard to keep track of everything, so here are our favorites from this past month in a neat little bundle. Not all of them are new, and not all of them have been written about here, but this should give you some insight into what we’ve been listening to lately. This month gets a little bit more low key with lots of jazz influences. Enjoy!

Tracklist:

14th – “Millionaire” (Remix)
Ghostpoet & The D.O.T. – “Trouble” (Damu remix)

° Star Slinger – “Dumbin’” (Feat. Reggie B) °

Star Slinger has grown into a truly outstanding producer. ‘Dumbin” is his first foray into the traditional abacab song structure that dominates most popular music, and he’s picked the perfect tune for a big dollar debut on Green Label Sound. Reggie B (whose previous work with Onra took over our 2k10) provides the dreamy and infectious vocals to this bubbly ditty about being with a girl for too long. Diplo even flipped the track into a boom bap ballad last week.

° Two Inch Punch – “Breaking Hearts” °

‘Breaking Hearts’ is a lost tune from the T. I. P. catalogue, and shows that there still is much more to come from this forward thinking producer. Keep your eyes on his soundcloud for more gems, including this ‘InspHERation’ mix he made for BBC Radio 1 that features some of the best tracks by Gold Panda, Flying Lotus, Delorean, De La Soul, and Jai Paul.

° Dirg Gerner – “My Queen” °

‘My Queen’ is a dusty and delicate soul ode by the mysterious Dirg Gerner (who may or may not be fLako), and his debut EP has just been released on Alexander Nut‘s Ho Tep Records. Preface draws heavily on the soul, jazz, latin, and hip hop sounds floating around the Eglo/Ho Tep/Rinse FM family, and his record is a broad and buried love affair with special appearances by Rahel, Olmino, and Fatima. You can purchase the vinyl today on Boomkat for only £6.99.

WHO WE ARE

Dipped in Dollars (D.I.D.) is the brainchild of Chief and Danger. While attending a crazy liberal arts college in Vermont, we realized our mutual love of righteous dance music, art, and the people behind them. D.I.D. exists to share this love with you and hopefully turn you on to something new.

This site exists to promote artists, if you hear something you like, think about throwing the artist(s) a few dollars, buy an album, go to a concert, show them you care. If any artists or official people want us to take any of our links down, just shoot us an email and we'll take care of it.

If you wish to contact the team, send mail to did@dippedindollars.com or for individual addresses, check here. (But please not both, duplicates are a drag)
