There is something about this Orlando area producer that reminds me of James Blake. Perhaps like Blake, XXYYXX utilizes loops to build and layer his tracks. Simultaneously XXYYXX embraces moments of silence and long rests in his music — another very blake-esque quality. XXYYXX’s track “Alone” sounds almost like it could be a bonus track on CYMK or James Blake’s self-titled debut album. “Alone” is simple, elegant and smooth, but don’t take my word for it.
