“Touching The Surface” is tied with “Wasted Time” for my favorite cut from Dreams‘ Lost Kingdom LP, with a silky low end curl and 808 house rhythms that hit like Afrika Bambaata‘s “Planet Rock”. The video for “Touching The Surface” is a VHS collage by Astro Nautico‘s visual artist, Paul Jones (Paolo Xz), with snippets from films that include Beyond The Mind’s Eye, Big Trouble In Little China, and The Stuff. Dipped in Dollars (D.I.D.) is the brainchild of Chief and Danger. While attending a crazy liberal arts college in Vermont, we realized our mutual love of righteous dance music, art, and the people behind them. Along the way we were joined by Crimson and B.Darko.
