S.Maharba – “Afternoon” (Young Montana Remix)
Young Montana has remixed S.Maharba‘s “Afternoon” for the forthcoming S.Maharba: Remixed album that will be out next month on BTS Records. Other remixers include Shigeto, Dibiase, and Mike Slott, and this sprawling six-minute opus from Montana has got us real excited for everything else in store. Teeko is a beatmaker from the Bay Area. A long time reader introduced me to his material earlier in the week, and I love how he’s integrating synths and samples over the Dilla beat. ALBUM: Dibiase – Machines Hate Me
Given the amount of hype that’s been surrounding Dibiase since his beats brought him to the final of Red Bull’s Big Tune competition in L.A., Machines Hate Me appeared to be the perfect caveat to an exciting collection of fall releases. This has been a pretty hit-or-miss year in terms of releases for me, but hearing Dibiase‘s Lumberjack is giving me more hope for the end of the year. The L.A.
