Nautic is a collaborative project between Bullion, Laura Groves, and Tic, who met during their time together at XL/Young Turks. They sent over “Fixxx”, a slow moving pop ballad that channels their previously far-out sonic explorations (Tic produced Jessie Ware + Sampha‘s “Valentine”) into a new frame of focus. TOO FRESH: Jessie Ware – “What You Won’t Do For Love”
Obey City introduced me to the genius of Bobby Caldwell about a year ago (and made me realize that Letherette had sampled him for their tune “Langsette”), and Jessie Ware recently flipped another one of his works with the help of Sampha. This is one of the best pieces of music to come out all year, and the roster at PMR Records have been up to some top work.
