VIDEO: Vague-a-bonde – “Evolved”

I was given the opportunity to preview Vague-a-bonde‘s fantastic forthcoming EP, 222, which sets the Minneapolis-based chanteuse up for some exciting frontiers. The Charlie Gerszewski-driected video for “Evolved” echos her synthetic pop aesthetic, juxtaposing symmetrical vogue dancers with an off kilter milieu of pixelated imagery. Look out for 222 when it drops on April 1.


Prism House – “Need You” (Part 1)

Prism House are currently prepping their debut EP for our brothers at on Ceremony Recordings. The Brooklyn-based duo sent over a tune called “Need You”, which sifts through waves of omnipresent samples that somehow grow unified over an industrial kick-snare combo. You can catch them live with Solar Year and Wildarms at Cameo Gallery on March 6.


RxGibbs – “Contact”

Cascine had me preview a terrific full length by RxGibbs called Contact, which finds the Michigan-based producer juxtaposing a myriad of melancholic soundscapes with lofty textures. “Contact” serves as a sign post for the sound you’ll be hearing on the rest of LP, working in a visceral feature from Marcus of Boat Club on guitars. Pre-order the gem before it drops on April 2.
