“Gold Dust”, a pretty phenomenal track by Londonite DJ Fresh arrived via email not too long ago, but today it is enhanced even further by this phenomenal music video. It begins as a simple video of people playing double dutch, but escalates in awesomeness as the moves get more and more intense. It’s an incredibly catchy song, and the jump ropes have this hypnotic effect, sucking you further and further into it. The album is out August 9, be sure to check it out.

DJ Fresh – Golddust

Hump day is close to over, and what better way to push on towards the weekend than with a hilarious video? I started watching the video just to hear the song by Grinny Grandad, which is excellent, but stuck it out for the awesome breakdancing. This video features the remix by DJ Askillz and is certainly bound to brighten your evening.

So one of my favorite tracks of the year so far now has an official video. It’s a simple depiction of life on tour for Rusko, which is made worth watching for the pure brilliance of the track alone. In addition, this video has convinced me of two things: 1. This man is practically a god in the UK, and 2. I need to get myself to a Rusko show ASAP. If you haven’t heard O.M.G.! yet, you are missing out on so much more than you know.

Just opened my inbox to find this gem. I had no prior knowledge of this track by Sidney Samson featuring Twista, but the beat is infectious and the dance moves make me want to hitch the next ride to Baltimore. Plus the main lady in the video is noneother than Rye Rye, so you know it’s hot.

Breakbot has outdone himself again by throwing out one of the best video’s I’ve seen all year. Those water colors are gorgeous. Baby I’m Yours can be found everywhere for less than $7.

From the first moment I heard this song by Kae Sun, I was hooked. Today the accompanying video arrived in my inbox, it’s simple and sweet, and serves as the perfect side to this addictive song. His album Lion on a Leash is out now, so grab it while you can!

The few tastes of O’Spada that I’ve had thus far have proven to me how addictive their music is, so naturally I was thrilled to wake up to a new track in my inbox this morning. “Pay Off” is unpredictable, undeniably catchy, and the accompanying video for is positively hypnotic in kind of a manic way. It’s already stuck in my head, and once you press play it will be in yours too. Their debut album will be released sometime this month, but for now you can get the single here. Also enjoy this remix by Rigas Den Andre, which significantly mellows out the original.

O’Spada – Pay Off (Rigasdenandre remix)

The Amplifetes arrived on my radar just a few days ago, and I am pleased that they did. They’ve got a grungy brand of pop that is easily accessible, and if this video is any indication, some pretty good senses of humor. According to them, “Our influences start somewhere around the 60s Psychadelia of Roy Wood and Velvet Underground, spiral through the 70s brilliance of The Electric Light Orchestra and The Ramones, via early Elvis Costello – New Wave and the different shapes of David Bowie straight into Chicago House, with a little Paul Hardcastle on top.” I could go on and on about how accurate this is, but the truth is that their music speaks for itself. It’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face and the accompanying video is lovely. I’m glad that they found their way into my inbox as well as my heart, and hope that they will win you over as well.

The Amplifetes – Whizz Kid

To celebrate this glorious weather in DC (no more rain!), let’s start the day off with some local flavor. This video and track come from DTMD which stands for Dunc & Toine Makin’ Dollas (so tight), two young men making beats and rhymes in our nation’s capital. I was informed that this video features the duo working at their actual day jobs, keepin’ it real. Their sound is so crisp and classic, it’s hard to believe they’re only 20 and 21, kids these days… You can download their EP entitled The Basics for free from their bandcamp, and you certainly won’t regret it.

DTMD – You

This arrived today with the tagline, “Music and fashion belong together. So it’s always been.” Can’t argue with that. It comes coupled with a Montauk remix of a track by The Sonnets. Perhaps this video is meant to highlight the clothes, but it also perfectly fit the mood of this positively lovely track. So don’t sleep on this one, and start your day off right.
