This pretty sweet video arrived via email not too long ago, and I’m excited to tell you guys about it. The concept is an interesting one, DC based artists Tabi Bonney and Koyaki created, recorded and performed a song in one day. More of a documentary than a music video, it truly shows how much can be accomplished in so little time. As my favorite line of the email puts it, ” If that’s possible, imagine how long it would take to get rid of ‘The Real Housewives’ series if we all worked together.” Word.

I just caught wind of “Student Body” the second single released by LexiconDon off of their debut album, the first of which, “December Sunset”, I had been sleeping on for quite some time. These tracks are light and happy electropop, and there are no complaints here. The album is coming out next Tuesday, August 24th, but for now, enjoy these.

I initially began watching this video, the accompaniment to Dennis Ferrer‘s single “Hey Hey”, simply to hear the track, but then the video pulled me in. The pulsing beat joined with the intense imagery left me transfixed, needing to know the conclusion. The song alone is definitely worth a listen, and is currently on loop in my brain.

Sending me an email describing your music as “good beats to drink cheap beer to” is a good way to get me to listen to your stuff. Having the sounds to back it up? Well, that’s how we ended up here. Patrick Lee, the man behind “Quittin’ Time”, has me listening to this track on repeat. A little bit like the intersection of blues and electronica, there are also moments of pure rock, and don’t even get me started on those vocal samples. This track is all over the place in the best kind of way, but the only way to truly understand is to give it a listen yourself.

So I have been counting down the days until this moment, and it is finally here. Faux Pas (whose genius I am more and more convinced of with each day that passes) has released the first single from his forthcoming album. Are you excited kids? Well, you should be. “Silver Line” is a spacey dream-filled rollercoaster that will sweep you along and maybe even give you that funny feeling in your stomach. He’s giving the single away for free on his blog (320kbps, what a dreamboat) but you can also buy a delicious bundle of remixes for $5, whoa what a steal! I am very excited about what is yet to come, but this will certainly tide me over for now.
