It’s been ages since I’ve heard anything from CFCF (please, please, please make a new album), but fortunately he’s gone and remixed “High Priestess” from one of my favorite albums of the year, Active Child’s You Are All I See. It is a gently subdued transformation of the original, one that could easily be the score for a magical fairy tale. Let the soft notes of the pan flute wash over you, and if you haven’t checked out Active Child‘s album yet, what are you waiting for?

Ever since I heard this track from Korallreven (featuring sultry vocals by Taken By Trees‘ Victoria Bergsman) tucked into their mixtape a few months back, I’d been waiting for the release. Well it’s here and it’s just as I remembered it. The initial hits remind me so much of CFCF, which makes sense as they’re labelmates on Acéphale (who can do no wrong). With a title like “Honey Mine”, you expect something saccharine and smooth, and Korallreven delivers in the best of ways. There are what are sure to be some amazing remixes (from Lissvik & Memoryhouse, among others) on the way too, so be on the lookout.

Dipped in Dollars is proud to present our February Mix of the Month, where we ask an up-and-coming artist to present us with a mix/mixtape that will allow us to gain better perspective of their process/show us what we can expect to hear from them in the future. Indian Summer is a little mix I made featuring some of my favorite songs we’ve been throwing out over these last few months. It doesn’t feature any music you’ll hear on the upcoming Comanche LP, but it’s a solid example of what you’ll be hearing from our live sets.
