Cheasleauen (pronounced Shass-lowen) was pleasant surprise in my inbox last week, a diamond in the rough. She reminds me a lot of Kid Sister (though the latest from Kid Sis was a real letdown), except way raunchier. She keeps it real, funny and always danceable. The one downside is that her promo pics on her myspace are a little ridiculous (straight out of the club), and don’t make her look nearly as hardcore and empowered as her lyrics do. Her flow is pretty much unstoppable and with a line (on “Go Brooklyn”) like “pick me up a cheesecake, bitch”, I’m in love.
