Dipped in Dollars is proud to present our February Mix of the Month, where we ask an up-and-coming artist to present us with a mix/mixtape that will allow us to gain better perspective of their process/show us what we can expect to hear from them in the future.Indian Summer is a little mix I made featuring some of my favorite songs we’ve been throwing out over these last few months. It doesn’t feature any music you’ll hear on the upcoming Comanche LP, but it’s a solid example of what you’ll be hearing from our live sets. I tried to hold off on too many special effects and let the songs speak for themselves. Expect more Comanche singles/remixes/mixtapes throughout the year. Tracklist provided below for anyone interested.
Dipped in Dollars has been enjoying a week long feature on BreakThru Radio, where you can now listen to/download our “Anatomy of a Blogger” radio show. We picked a lot of our favorite songs of the year and weaved them together with Danger Dome/Chief interviews over Comanche beats. We tried to make it something you could thoroughly enjoy from start to finish. Tracks listed below for anyone interested. Check it out by clicking the Anatomy of a Blogger link on BreakThru’s program guide.

My heart is broken. After three long months of day counting, I was forced to give my Phoenix/Passion Pit tickets to a couple of lucky readers. I’ve been listening to them non-stop ever since Malcolm Perkins of Your Nature showed me the video for If I Ever Feel Better in the fall of my freshman year. I like to think of them as a more beautiful, French version of The Strokes. I was fortunate enough to catch their set at the Music Hall of Williamsburg last June, and it was easily one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. It was great to see how deep Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix hit with the audience. You must see them before they return to Euroland.
In memoriam of those fallen tickets, you get to listen to my favorite Phoenix remixes. Bonus Chief adventure.
Last month I took a brief journey back to the homeland and visited Crimson of Comanche at his place in Southern MN. The drinks were rough, the women were blonde, and the night ended with us throwing songs at each other. After slinging recent releases from Bibio and Passion Pit, I was totally blown away when he blasted shit that sounded like the Swedish lovechild of Daft Punk and The Beach Boys. pacific! hail from Gothenburg. They’ve been remixed by Breakbot and Avalon, and are a large part of why I’ll be mixing a furious dance set for my Mix of the Month.
Dipped in Dollars (D.I.D.) is the brainchild of Chief and Danger Dome. While attending a crazy liberal arts college in Vermont, we realized our mutual love of righteous dance music, art, and the people behind them. D.I.D. exists to share this love with you and hopefully turn you on to something new. More about the brains behind the brawn, here.
This site exists to promote artists, if you hear something you like, think about throwing the artist(s) a few dollars, buy an album, go to a concert, show them you care. If any artists or official people want us to take any of our links down, just shoot us an email and we'll take care of it. Happy Listening!
