This has been a good year for Dipped in Dollars. From getting a mention in the Guardian, previewing Jai Paul‘s album in XL’s New York office, interviewing artists like Gilles Peterson, Jensen Sportag and Onra to premiering exclusive mixes by Solar Bears, Teams, and Streets Of Beige, our second year has been filled with lots of fun. Hopefully we’ve been able to influence a few record purchases as well. There already are some big things in store for our third year, and Crimson and I have also made mixes to thank you all for the good times.

Daedelus is going to be hitting the road for a third Magical Properties tour with support from fellow LA beatmakers Tokimonsta and Sholohmo. Both Daedelus and Sholohmo will also be releasing albums on dates throughout the tour, so I’m sure there will be special nights surrounding each release. You can check the full list of dates here.

So we received another gem from My Dry Wet Mess, and I am getting pulled more and more into his music. Seems like everything I’m listening to these days has this almost glitchy sound, but MDWM definitely takes it to an upbeat place. His debut LP was released yesterday on Daedelus‘ label Magical Properties. So go on and grab it while it’s hot!

We just received notice of DID favorite Daedelus going on tour with The Gaslamp Killer. DC MC Atari Blitzkrieg just sent over this un-mastered version of a track he did with must listen favorite Daedelus. This track is still a little rough around the edges, but I’m loving the 8-bit Daedelus beat, and Atari‘s flow is fucking strong. I can’t wait to hear the mastered version of this piece. You’ve got to go see this guy live if you’re in the DC area.
