Joe Goddard and Four Tet and have become integral parts of my time this year, and I can’t believe I missed this remix of ‘Apple Bobbing’ the first time around. Four Tet starts by time stretching the original, chopping up what sounds like the stems of Cassie‘s Me & U into something more like Love Cry before letting Goddard‘s melodies shine over his dense rhythms. Eglo Records let us know about their takeover of room three at Fabric for Four Tet‘s Fabriclive 59 release party this Friday. Lone, Caribou, and Lunice are also on the bill that evening, and Eglo is sure to keep the celebrations going in true form. Tickets have completely sold out online, but you may still be able to find a few at the door.

This has been a good year for Dipped in Dollars. From getting a mention in the Guardian, previewing Jai Paul‘s album in XL’s New York office, interviewing artists like Gilles Peterson, Jensen Sportag and Onra to premiering exclusive mixes by Solar Bears, Teams, and Streets Of Beige, our second year has been filled with lots of fun. Hopefully we’ve been able to influence a few record purchases as well. There already are some big things in store for our third year, and Crimson and I have also made mixes to thank you all for the good times.

I’m not going to admit how often I listen to/watch the video for Madvillain‘s Accordion, but I’ve recently dived into Daedelus‘ discography and noticed that the song was sampled from his Experience. To add insult to injury, Daedelus is playing the accordion in the video.
