° Huess – “Happiness Is Easy” °

Huess has a knack for sending us beats that are consistently intriguing while staying somewhat outside the box, and his crew from Inaudible Answer sent over a few new tracks to get us ready for his upcoming EP. Happiness Is Easy exhibits his trademark hip-hop stylings, fused with shoegazing psychedelia to induce a somewhat euphoric experience. You should also check out the recently released Huesscast 4, which is filled with heat from Salva, Madlib, Dimlite, Kelpe, and Letherette. Stay tuned for more details on his upcoming EP.

° EP: Huess – What It Cost °

Huess has decided to top off a phenomenal year by releasing What It Cost, his first physical release on Inaudible Answer. The release compiles tracks from his I’d Rather Be The Hunter and Broke EP’s, and also includes two new remixes by Kelpe and Fulgeance. It’s crazy to think about how high he’s climbed since he sent us his beats way back in March, and I can only imagine what he’ll be up to in 2k11. You can purchase the release on his bandcamp for only ₤2.49.

° Kelpe – “Chocolate Money” (Huess Remix) °

Kelpe recently gave me the opportunity to listen to his Chocolate Money EP, which will be out November 22nd on Rush Hour Records. Margins has been one of my favorite songs of the year, and Chocolate Money cements his status as one of the best electronic producers of 2k10. There is a clean and crisp quality that underlies every one of his works, with Chocolate Money hitting like the offspring of Oh No and Gold Panda. You can simmer on this Huess remix til you get your hands on your own copy, which can be pre-ordered here.

° Huess – Broke EP °

It’s been awhile since we heard from D.I.D. favorite Huess, and he recently sent over his Broke EP. Here’s what he had to say about the release.

“With a sound most commonly compared to Bullion, Dilla, Onra, Flying Lotus and their cohorts, Huess is fast becoming recognised as a leading light of the UK beat scene. His first release, the I’d Rather Be The Hunter EP, was released last year and received the support of Jay Scarlett, Fulgeance, and numerous influential blogs. This time round, with the Broke EP he is bringing something new and, best of all, free. Why? To help build awareness of his first physical release including remixes by Fulgeance and Kelpe.”

I love hearing how Huess‘ sound is evolving. The EP is free on his bandcamp for a little while, and you must check it out.

WHO WE ARE

Dipped in Dollars (D.I.D.) is the brainchild of Chief and Danger. While attending a crazy liberal arts college in Vermont, we realized our mutual love of righteous dance music, art, and the people behind them. D.I.D. exists to share this love with you and hopefully turn you on to something new.

This site exists to promote artists, if you hear something you like, think about throwing the artist(s) a few dollars, buy an album, go to a concert, show them you care. If any artists or official people want us to take any of our links down, just shoot us an email and we'll take care of it.

If you wish to contact the team, send mail to did@dippedindollars.com or for individual addresses, check here. (But please not both, duplicates are a drag)
