° Javeon McCarthy – “Lost Time” °

PMR Records has been featuring Javeon McCarthy‘s vocals on nearly all of their other artist’s releases, and have finally decided to throw him back into the forefront with with “Lost Time”. The label clued us in about the tune being produced by Craze & Hoax and mixed by Joker, which explains how Javeon is starting to operate on another level. Look out for the single when it drops on February 27th.

° VIDEO: Gorillaz – Doncamatic (feat. Daley) °

After spending most of the year with Plastic Beach and seeing Gorillaz live at Madison Square Garden in October, this video for Doncamatic is a complete letdown. The single can be found on an upcoming Gorillaz release that Albarn made entirely on his ipad, and I’m hoping the rest of the album isn’t anything like this video. This recent live session from Radio 1′s Live Lounge is lifting my spirits a little. Joker also killed the remix. You can buy the single everywhere today.

° Must Listen: Dark Matter: Multiverse 2004 – 2009 °

This article was written by Vikrant from Indie Bandwagon.

When pioneering labels release compilation albums, they often celebrate their strength and diversity. Highlighting the swagger and possibility of both emerging and existing talents, the Multiverse/Tectonic labels present us with Dark Matter: Multiverse 2004 – 2009. This expansive 2 disc compilation is typical of the label: an eclectic mix of intellectual music that’s aggressively unafraid of the dancefloor. Disc 2 offers tracks from some of the label’s newer artists whose elements of pop and dancehall set them apart from the typical dubstep sound, and help stake their own claim to writing their label’s history.

Unfortunately there’s nothing we haven’t heard here before, but the collection is an important introduction to the uncompromising collective. What I love the most about this compilation is each track’s ability to keep me engaged despite their overwhelming numbers. What is the Multiverse secret? Nothing more complicated than a commitment to diversity and a passion for experimentation.

WHO WE ARE

Dipped in Dollars (D.I.D.) is the brainchild of Chief and Danger. While attending a crazy liberal arts college in Vermont, we realized our mutual love of righteous dance music, art, and the people behind them. D.I.D. exists to share this love with you and hopefully turn you on to something new.

This site exists to promote artists, if you hear something you like, think about throwing the artist(s) a few dollars, buy an album, go to a concert, show them you care. If any artists or official people want us to take any of our links down, just shoot us an email and we'll take care of it.

If you wish to contact the team, send mail to did@dippedindollars.com or for individual addresses, check here. (But please not both, duplicates are a drag)
