I was a little weary to post this before things became official (thanks fake Justice), but Diplo has confirmed this new collabo with M.I.A. will be on a new Major Lazer EP this April. I’m loving the marching beat under vocoded M.I.A. + dangerous flow from Jamaican dancehall champion Busy Signal. Check Major Lazer on tour all Spring.

Dipped in Dollars is proud to present our February Mix of the Month, where we ask an up-and-coming artist to present us with a mix/mixtape that will allow us to gain better perspective of their process/show us what we can expect to hear from them in the future. Indian Summer is a little mix I made featuring some of my favorite songs we’ve been throwing out over these last few months. It doesn’t feature any music you’ll hear on the upcoming Comanche LP, but it’s a solid example of what you’ll be hearing from our live sets. I tried to hold off on too many special effects and let the songs speak for themselves. Expect more Comanche singles/remixes/mixtapes throughout the year. Tracklist below.

I hadn’t heard about Ninjasonik until their Somebody Gonna Get Pregnant/Ace Of Base mashup in Major Lazer‘s Keep Watch mixtape totally took me over. This Brooklyn trio may have contributed to the #10 slot in Gawker‘s Hipster of the Decade list (pretty racist article?), but I’m still really into their sound. Think electronic beats weaved under smooth flows/inspirational subject matter. You have to go listen to their Keep Watch mixtape featuring D.I.D. favorites Spank Rock, Theophilus London and Blaqstarr. Check out their video for Sombody Gonna Get Pregnant.
