° Stream Bobby On NPR °

Our little corner of the internet has been buzzing about Bobby‘s debut release, which can now be streamed in its entirety on NPR‘s First Listen. This Twigz/Mountain Man amalgamation have produced a phenomenal hour of material, and we hope it makes as big of a splash as we think it will. You can pre-order the album here, and catch them on tour with Thao & Mirah all June.

° Mountain Man – “Soft Skin” °

I’ve been busy finishing up my final term of work and watching the girls from Mountain Man perform all over campus. Made In The Harbor is going to be such a gorgeous album. You must see these girls live at some point this summer.

° SXSW Performance: Mountain Man @ The Longbranch Inn °

After another long day in Austin, I found myself at a Mountain Man performance somewhere near 1am during the Underwater Peoples and Gorilla vs. Bear showcase. Delirious and exhausted, I was holding out to hear these lovely ladies. Due to technical difficulties, the trio decided to cast their microphones aside, instead choosing to perform acoustically while seated on the stage. The entire audience followed suit, huddled close to one another attempting to grasp every note. It was one of the most intimate musical experiences I’ve had, especially when considering that this scene took place inside a crowded Austin bar. Longtime fans and new converts gathered together in silence for a truly magical collective experience. Microphone Memory Emotion said it better than I ever could have here.

° Mountain Man in San Fran °

Three of our favorite ladies, Alex, Amelia and Molly of the acoustic wonder that is Mountain Man, have been tearing it up on the west coast this winter. I first came across these videos by Yours Tru.ly, here, and am ecstatic I did. These women are best experienced live, and these videos are the closest I’ll be able to get until SXSW. Mind-blowingly gorgeous, this is not to be missed.

WHO WE ARE

Dipped in Dollars (D.I.D.) is the brainchild of Chief and Danger. While attending a crazy liberal arts college in Vermont, we realized our mutual love of righteous dance music, art, and the people behind them. D.I.D. exists to share this love with you and hopefully turn you on to something new.

This site exists to promote artists, if you hear something you like, think about throwing the artist(s) a few dollars, buy an album, go to a concert, show them you care. If any artists or official people want us to take any of our links down, just shoot us an email and we'll take care of it.

If you wish to contact the team, send mail to did@dippedindollars.com or for individual addresses, check here. (But please not both, duplicates are a drag)
