We were recently sent a delightful video for Paul White’s track “The Doldrums.” Put together by visual artist and animator Plastic Horse, this treat makes for a great accompaniment to one of Paul White‘s catchier tunes on his release from August of last year (Rapping With Paul White). This has been a good year for Dipped in Dollars. From getting a mention in the Guardian, previewing Jai Paul‘s album in XL’s New York office, interviewing artists like Gilles Peterson, Jensen Sportag and Onra to premiering exclusive mixes by Solar Bears, Teams, and Streets Of Beige, our second year has been filled with lots of fun. Hopefully we’ve been able to influence a few record purchases as well. There already are some big things in store for our third year, and Crimson and I have also made mixes to thank you all for the good times.

We received word that Paul White‘s 2009 album The Strange Dreams Of Paul White was being released for free online after recently selling out of the limited edition, pillow-stitched physical copies. White pushes the envelope in the realm of beat makers, and this album is a seamless progression through twenty-one short but very sweet tracks. He flexes a versatile sample database while layering heavy beats and superb production technique on top of one another.
