We just received notice of DID favorite Daedelus going on tour with The Gaslamp Killer. The performances are sure to be epic as they’ll be joined on various dates by Samiyam, 12th Planet, Free the Robots and Teebs. Ras G and Samiyam are collaborating for All City‘s Limited 10″ series, where each artist provides three tracks for a side of the album. These guys can collaborate on anything and I’ll bite. There is only going to be one pressing of the album, so you’ve got to get it while you can.

It’s recently come to my attention that Hudson Mohawke and Samiyam were at the same RBMA in ’07, and created Eff This. I’m pissed I didn’t find out earlier.

I was spinning hyperdub at a terrible bar in VT last summer, when an old man walked up and handed me a cd full of Samiyam beats. It turns out he spent a lot of time around the scene in Brooklyn, and couldn’t believe I was spinning these beats in the forest. This producer from Ann Arbor is best known for his collaborations with D.I.D. favorite Flying Lotus, but Rap Beats Vol. 1, his first official release, is some serious stuff. He did a pretty interesting interview with the guys over at xlr8r that you should definitely check out. I see some big things in Samiyam‘s future. Man vs. Machine dropped last October, and is currently sold out, but I’m sure there are digital copies floating around somewhere.
