It was only six months ago when Siriusmo dropped his last full LP, “Mosaik“. Drawing from an archive of work from 2000-2010, German producer Siriusmo’s two disc “Pearls and Embarrassments” is worthy of high praise and hearty endorsement as yet another astounding testament to his seemingly endless display of virtuosity as an composer and producer. In some ways, “Pearls” is a much richer mosaic in form than “Mosaik” was, as it draws from a larger pool of influence and spans a wider array of rhythmic assortments and sonic textures.

Similarly, through a random sampling of these 42 tracks you will also find many more pearls in this mosaic than embarrassments. After over a decade of making music, Siriusmo truly sets himself apart from other producers in his international cohort by both the content and style of this release; sharing such a lengthy and consistently impressive back catalog of unreleased material with fans is something rarely seen by artists yet undoubtedly appreciated. This has been a good year for Dipped in Dollars. From getting a mention in the Guardian, previewing Jai Paul‘s album in XL’s New York office, interviewing artists like Gilles Peterson, Jensen Sportag and Onra to premiering exclusive mixes by Solar Bears, Teams, and Streets Of Beige, our second year has been filled with lots of fun. Hopefully we’ve been able to influence a few record purchases as well. There already are some big things in store for our third year, and Crimson and I have also made mixes to thank you all for the good times.
