My Dry Wet Mess is a producer from Barcelona who’s going to be releasing the second LP for Daedelus‘ new Magical Properties imprint this October. He sent over Yours Truly, the first single from the album, earlier in the week and further research has yielded a serious Slim Thug remix. You know anything Daedelus related will always be equal parts beat and melody. He’ll be playing at the Downtown Independent/Low End Theory this October, and you have to check him out if you’ll be in the area.

Ok, so I watch Gossip Girl and I have no shame about it. Occasionally it pays off musically. I was watching this past week’s episode with a friend and we got to the scene where the threesome started (can’t even touch upon that right now), and we were like “is that at T.I. cover?”. Indeed it was. Anya Marina has covered “Whatever You Like” in such a sweet and sincere manner, that I can almost digest it as a straight up love ballad. This is partly hilarious, but mostly filled with a beautiful naiveté that has me listening to it over and over again. I liked the original, but this one has me coming back time and time again, on its own merit, and that must mean something.
