° The Hood Internet – Trillwave 2 °

So, the last thing I expected to be posting today (or ever) was a mash-up mixtape (the last Girl Talk album actually made me want to cry), but I just can’t deny how great this is. The Hood Internet presents Trillwave 2 a delightful blend of hip hop greats and some of D.I.D.‘s favorite indie darlings. This is summer at its core, so let these jams guide you through the weekend. ° VIDEO: Twin Sister – “All Around and Away We Go” °

And now for the dance jam of the day: this sweet video by Twin Sister who we just love over here. Just like today’s low key jam of the day it is filled to the brim with retro nostalgia. This video exploded onto my twitter feed today, and with good reason, it rocks. A great video for a great song by a great band, perfection.

° Twin Sister Remixes °

Blackbird Blackbird and Martonomous have both presented us with exceptional reinterpretations of Twin Sister‘s Lady Daydream. Blackbird Blackbird transforms the song into a side chained chillwave slowjam, while Martonomous goes heavy on the beat and weaves Slick Rick‘s La-Di-Da-Di into an alluring taste of the mid nineties. Both artists are at their finest in these remixes, and we’ll be dropping more gems from them in the next couple of weeks.

WHO WE ARE

Dipped in Dollars (D.I.D.) is the brainchild of Chief and Danger. While attending a crazy liberal arts college in Vermont, we realized our mutual love of righteous dance music, art, and the people behind them. D.I.D. exists to share this love with you and hopefully turn you on to something new.

This site exists to promote artists, if you hear something you like, think about throwing the artist(s) a few dollars, buy an album, go to a concert, show them you care. If any artists or official people want us to take any of our links down, just shoot us an email and we'll take care of it.

If you wish to contact the team, send mail to did@dippedindollars.com or for individual addresses, check here. (But please not both, duplicates are a drag)
