Dreamy Brooklynites Twin Sister have released their new EP, entitled Color Your Life, for free on their website for two weeks! It was super swell to finally experience them live at the MICRO-PIXEL-RITES unofficial yet totally rad backyard BBQ showcase during SXSW, and to learn that they’ll be in the fair city of Washington, DC in mid-April. All you audiophiles can grab that vinyl version here.
It’s that time of year again, Valentine’s Day, the holiday that divides us all. A year ago today I made a mix for my friends to celebrate the joys of friend love (and beautiful music of course), and I’m at it again, only now I have a lot more people to share this with. It’s Sunday night, the rain is gone, and the summer is still here, just a quick note before I head off to bed. I was introduced to Twin Sister earlier this summer, but didn’t get around to / remember to write this post until I read this one. The songs are sweet and sincere, and calming. “I Want A House” is the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard, in more than one sense, with every second one becomes more and more entranced. You will listen and be smiling before you even realize it (true story). Hello repeat button. Transition to the week begins again, and this will make it a little easier to deal.
